2 Million Worshippers Arrive in Mecca for Hajj

'The Hajj is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and the largest gathering of Muslim people in the world every year. It is one of the five pillars of Islam, and a religious duty which must be carried out by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so at least once in his or her lifetime.' The Hajj is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people, and their submission to God.'

Muslim worshippers wait before performing the afternoon prayer at the mosque in Saudi Arabia today

Prince Khaled al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, in an interview with Al Arabiya broadcast spoke of 225,000 employees are working this year to serve more than two million pilgrims expected to attend the hajj.

Prince Khaled said there are eight hospitals and 96 medical centers in the holy land, which includes Mina, Mozdalefa, and Arafat, ready to deal with all sorts of health conditions that may arise during hajj.

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj Bandar Hajjar in an interview with Al Arabiya television on Tuesday said the kingdom will not allow political demonstrations during the Muslim pilgrimage.

The number of pilgrims has been reduced this year due to development plans intended to expand the holy mosque. The development plan is to raise the capacity of pilgrims to seven million.

An official spokesman of the ministry of hajj, Hatem ghadi, said “the absorptive capacity which used to absorb 42,000 fell to 22,000 per hour during the past year”

“In this period we must all coexist together” he added.

As with the reduction of numbers attending this year, there has been an increase of tour costs. People are noticing however because they have been given a religious duty to make this journey, at least once in their lifetime, people are still finding a way to fulfill this.

Not only is the expense involved with this pilgrimage, also due to the masses of people, temptation to exploit, with reports of fraud taking place. Fraud is encouraged to be reported to the Police. Most people tend to be silent about this through fear of embarrassment.

With the primary focus of peace for masses of people in their prayer - please maintain this focus. Eventually it will be that everyone will realise a higher consciousness, however unfortunately there are people in our world who are preventing this, perhaps unknowingly.

The Daily Mail writes 'Saudi Arabian authorities have asked pilgrims to put politics aside during the annual hajj, but amid bitter divisions in Egypt, some Islamists refuse to keep quiet.

'What's happening in Egypt now is a disgrace. The army is killing innocent Muslims in cold blood every day,' said Zaghloul Hassanien, the owner of an oil products company in the Nile Delta town of Mansoura, as he stood in a supermarket near the Grand Mosque.

He said the kingdom had drafted 95,000 members of the security forces to maintain order.

Sunni Muslim Saudi Arabia not only hosts the pilgrimage but is also increasingly involved in the conflicts across the region

The kingdom is embroiled in a region-wide contest for influence with Shi'ite Iran, with each side accusing the other of backing Syria's bloody civil war.

It has also given Egypt billions of dollars to help prop up the economy and support the generals who in July ousted a government led by Mohamed Mursi, a member of the Sunni Islamist movement the Muslim Brotherhood.

'In every prayer I say God bless Sisi, God give him the strength to protect us against these people that claim to be religious and who have no connection with Islam,' said Mohammed Mahmoud Ahmed, a 36-year-old pilgrim from Aswan.

But most Egyptians making their way into the holy city said their most fervent prayers were for peace.

'Egypt was never like this: Now within a family you have one brother that supports Mursi and another that supports the army and they kill each other over these differences,' said Mosaad Moahmed Hamed, a 28-year-old pilgrim from Mansoura.

'I am praying to God in these holy days that Egypt will be united again. We are tired of hearing about people being killed every day,' he said.'

If the leaders of any people are in conflict, this impacts the people. There has been in history the division of people by religious leaders and rejection of people guided by God. In history prophets who are given the Word of God have been killed too. The truth cannot be silenced forever.

For peace in our world, this means healing old wounds too. Eventually all the blocks to peace, will have to fall down. If people really do believe in and Trust God, Let Him/God Almighty Rule This World. Submission to God is especially required by those who are right at the very top positions. God does not use guns or weapons of war....Man does not rule over God.

Prophet Muhammad revealed himself in a dream, after a prayer for help to bring peace between Muslims and Christians. There is an entirely different issue with the division between Muslims and eventually every man is going to have to come together and fully accept his family is humanity.

Long overdue is global peace and healing. Let it be!

Peace, love and best wishes
