Slavery: A 21st Century Evil: - Child Slaves

Uploaded on 1 Nov 2011
There are at least 8.4 million child slaves in the world today, many of them held as forced labour.

It, takes a conscientious humanity to be aware of the choices individuals make and make change. Awakening the masses to the exploitation of children, cannot also ignore that around our world, not in isolated lands that are reported on = are children living in homes and in fear being treated as slaves. There are children being exploited and abused - innocence being stolen prematurely and a burden of circumstance and experience that scars the heart and mind

These video reported documentaries provide evidence of conditions with testimonies of experience and yet, fear and oppression has excused exploitation and slavery.

It becomes necessary that voices are not silenced - of the organisations that are accessing funds to make a difference, itis unknown in what way the funds collected are being spent.

Again, education is being addressed as a key factor to help combat poverty. Watching a film with a young girl who wanted to attend school to learn, the teacher rejected her because her mother had no money to pay. There should be no obstruction to any child learning.

In the hours of a child being at school, they are learning and safe. A child who is at home might be given housework to do and even other work on top. There are children treated as slaves at home, being beaten and abused - they are helpless without a voice, without our taking notice.

It takes dynamic thinking to solve problems and provide solutions. To address the root cause of problems - money or the lack of money being used to justify the lack of education. If there is a people, parents who send their children to work - then this must be tackled.

While the video focuses on Haiti, we cannot ignore this issue of child exploition, the vulnerability of children where there is poverty, can also be the cause of psychologically and emotionally scarred adults into future generations. If preventing child explooition and abuse is requiring certaim measures including education, it is a small price to pay to provide this with love.

If children grow up living in fear, as adults they might make decisions and react in fear. As has been written there is a global healing need - this healing comes in many different levels.

It has been shown with some of the castrophes happening, our attention is taken to these lands.  We have the opportunity to seeand learn from what evidence is available. We also can see what is taking place to help people. There is a movement to end child slavery and poverty - a people who are empathic in their heart and visionaries who see that the reality cnanot be ignored.

If the root causes of problems are not addressed, then the problem will escalate. If we are to create a world that allows people to thrive and make choices - so that children who want to contribute to this world can, instead of having 'overlords' who are stunting development and progress.

Peace, love and best wishes
