Queen's Speech Darkness Vs Love 18th Century Room

Interesting article today headlines published in the Daily Mail.

Flanked by photos of her nearest and dearest, the Queen uses her annual Christmas message to thank 'people who bring happiness into our lives' but also confronts 'darkness' that has hit the world in 2015

  • Queen will speak about light triumphing over dark in Christmas message
  • She will say the world has had to confront moments of darkness this year
  • But, quoting the Bible, she will read verse of hope from Gospel of John
  • She will also give thanks to family and renewed gratitude to armed forces

Reflecting on the past 12 months, the monarch will say during her Christmas Day broadcast: 'It is true that the world has had to confront moments of darkness this year, but the Gospel of John contains a verse of great hope, often read at Christmas carol services: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it".'

In her annual address - being screened later today - the Queen will describe the festive period as 'a time to remember all that we have to be thankful for'.

Address: She is wearing a tweed day dress in white and silver by Angela Kelly, part of an outfit worn for a Diamond Jubilee visit to Wales in 2012, and has three family photographs on the desk where she is sitting

Why this image is posted in article. The18th Century room is identified with 18th Century  Queen Charlotte's painting in the background masked by the Christmas tree. On the other side exposed a painting Jacob watering Laban's flock - deeply significant and symbolic....photographs of the family and a table display with white roses - again symbolic...and the Queen Mother broach - not forgetting that Charles is in a job share with his mother - since 2012 if a recall  dressed in a white and silver dress by Angela Kelly.

Of the comments that are written - many are not nice.

The queen, just like Charlie, has conveniently forgotten the lady who revived the Windsors and proudly displays Cruella's picture on her table. Without Diana, the monarchy would have long been forgotten. Because of her, and through William, the Windsors are still visible.(We)

I'm not even in the uk but I like to watch the queens speech online. Why so many nasty comments? She seems a very lovely person. (Mika)
'It is true that the world has had to confront moments of darkness this year, but the Gospel of John contains a verse of great hope, often read at Christmas carol services: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it".' Best part of her speech, she's right

2 Peter 3 : 13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell. (Revelation 21: 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away. (Revelation 21:3-5) 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: ¿Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.¿ 5 And the One seated on the throne said: ¿Look! I am making all things new.¿ Also he says: ¿Write, for these words are faithful and true.. These are words of comfort and promise taken from the bible. See jw.org (Lilian)

So True Lilian. I do hope someone calls on her to show her from her own bible the wonderful hope for the future. The world is in a terrible state, but hopefully not for too much longer. (susiesue)

I actually feel sorry for the mouth breathers who are captivated by this 'royalty' farce! How sad that their lives will never know intelligence and self-direction!

Every year the queens speech is even more treasured, and Her Majesty is so very special... long may she reign (Me in)

Surprisingly no mention of Christ in the replies...at least so far.

In the Queen's 2014 Christmas speech Reconciliation

In the Book of John are the messages to the 7 churches of the Roman Province of Asia. People who today are scattered around the world and yet the promises remain - Someone has made a pact with Satan for power, but the light that comes from Christ is not extinguished. The Law of Grace does not change and the Promises God made to the People remain in place..

Will the Queen even mention this...she might or not.

The elder, To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth--and not I only, but also all who know the truth-- 2 John 1:1

It is also written in the Holy Scriptures:

1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesha and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:1-10

I wish all my readers a peaceful Christmas with heartfelt love

Peace be with you
Pauline Maria
