Johanna Quaas 86 year old gymnast

The Olympic games and paralympics are over until next time as far as competitions go. However every athlete will not be resting on their laurels. Training is ongoing and new goals will be reached. The world has been inspired.

Today I want to share someone who inspires me with the reminder that whatever our age, we can do something if we really want to. As there are a vast diversity of strengths in relation to fitness and application of talents, I promote the discovery of your own uniqueness and what suits the nature of the individual.

Johanna Quaas from Halle, Germany, is now the oldest active gymnast of the world! 86 year-old Johanna Quaas is named the Oldest Gymnast in the Guinesss Book of Records. The retired PE teacher from Leipzig began to train at gymnastics in her 50s and took part in her first competition at the age of 56.

Born 20th of November 1925, Johanna has always maintained an active interest in keeping fit since childhood. Responsibilities as a mother and wife, became a priority in life and this delayed her dedication to gymnastics until later.

Joanna has a strict exercise regime that involves a combination of running and yoga.
Johanna says "it is great feeling to be included and I hope the record inspires others to realise it's never too late."

Here Johanna performs in front of an audience. With a reminder that sometimes life has demands; we might have physical limitations and even health issues that can get in the way of our being able to build up fitness. Johanna gives me a gift with being an inspiration. I hope you will value this too. Thank you Joanna.

Peace, love and best wishes
