The White House Presidential Resolute Desk

Remembering Queen Victoria gifted the desk in the white house..

It was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B Hayes. in 1880 and was built from the timbers of the British Arctic Exploration ship Resolute

HMS Resolute was a mid-19th-century barque-rigged ship of the British Royal Navy, specially outfitted for Arctic exploration.Resolute became trapped in the ice and was abandoned. Recovered by an American whaler, she was returned to Queen Victoria in 1856. Timbers from the ship were later used to construct a desk which was then presented to the President of the United States.

Resolute - admirably purposeful, determined, and unwavering.

What do the American people know about Barack Obama?

What I know, even the people who are the most terrible, have also good qualities, and even the people who are portrayed to be the nicest of people, might be rotten to the core.

There are people who are driven to do evil....

But who is the current President - Do you know?

What does that desk symbolise...

Thinking about this - a Captain on the ship. As my uncle was a ship Captain, he is given responsibility for the passengers - not that we have had conversations but responsibility is held with the Captain.

A Captain is the first officer on the ship.

Admiralty law is applicable...

Just sharing this...because the desk came to mind.

Peace be with you
