England Consecrated To Immaculate Heart of Mary 1948

A Great Event at Walsingham!
At Walsingham, on Friday 16th July 1948 (feast of Our Lady of Carmel) in the grounds of the ancient Abbey, Cardinal Griffin, together with the Catholic hierarchy of England and Wales, consecrated England and Wales to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This followed a pilgrimage of "prayer and Penance" with the intention of making reparation for the evils of World War II. The pilgrimage saw fourteen crosses carried to Walsingham from all parts of the country, and which became the Stations of the Cross as seen at the shrine. The event was organized by the Union of Catholic Mothers and was a great missionary event; with good media coverage and leaflets handed out by pilgrims along the way. Twelve thousand pilgrims and visitors arrived at Walsingham and were present for the consecration. The pilgrimage attracted much attention throughout the country and was a momentous and major step in the offering of reparation. There had previously been, in 1934, a great pilgrimage of reparation for the Reformation.

Those who have gone against him have evoked his wrath and yet, we must keep focussed on the light and truth to learn the truth.
Peace be with you
Pauline Maria
