Jesus being Jewish - His Words Have Deeper Meaning
It is a mistake to think that God looks at one people from one land and another people from another land differently. The searcher of hearts, people being tested too. We are challenged to learn and grow.
This morning an email arrived with an apology...
A Jewish friend, in real life, identified an argument when I just saw her expressing an opinion, whether belief or teaching, something was said about Jewish people not accepting Jesus..yesterday.
There is something that I am going to 'nit pick' and have done already. Jesus was born of a Jewish mother from the family line of King David. If his mother is Jewish, is Jesus not Jewish by birthright too.
So Judaism was brought into the conversation...all I could say is I am baptised Greek Orthodox and I also know God is for all people - even if people reject him.
Even if people reject Jesus even in this day, there are a great many people who do not. If people reject God they are not going to accept Jesus Christ so easily perhaps....and if they reject Christ, what then> It is as we have teachers of wisdom and higher learning, only when we are ready will we understand.
While there is teaching documented, Divine Wisdom that flows as spiritual waters is one of the spiritual mysteries and we are in these mixed teachings and what might even be sibling rivalry dramas, creating blocks and obstacles for attaining higher understanding. We are taught to trust man instead of God.
After the conversation with my friend, I was feeling 'sensitive' - we have never had such a confrontational conversation and she was not being in any way malicious or disrespectful to me. It was hard to listen to someone I know saying that Jews do not accept Jesus - but I know there are many who do.
With my bible cupped in my hands - one of a few here to compare scriptures when no internet to access directly...my focus on God was for help and guidance in this experience..and led to see this:
“Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. TheLord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. 3 For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law. 4 But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them. 5 In those days it was not safe to travel about, for all the inhabitants of the lands were in great turmoil. 6 One nation was being crushed by another and one city by another, because God was troubling them with every kind of distress. 7 But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:2-7
In the New Testament book I have Hebrews are identified:
Epistle to the Hebrews is a letter to the Hebrews:
If a write a letter to someone from my heart with their highest good in mind, if they choose to discard this, who is at fault? And when God is using his messengers to inspire faith with mankind, to gather his people back to him and they ignore this, whose loss is this?
So the above scripture is written to show what happened 'God was troubling them back with every kind of distress'.....and having gone through this personally. I know...and God is my strength.
If we do not return in faith willingly, God will put us through all sorts of situations to test us; to strengthen us in faith. We who have survived this can also share our experiences to inspire faith...I live in a land where there are so many broken people - lonely people and a land where Christmas is materialistically focused before Christ is remembered. Perhaps conflict in religion is the excuse. The day given so we are reminded of a child being born who would return people to God is our gift.
I do not want any Christmas presents ...the rush of spending and giving because it is expected, I do not want that either. I wonder if I visited friends to gave them a hug - would that be enough?
Unfortunately I do not have the gift to be able to feed 5000 people, but I can say to 5000 people if what little you have share with someone who has nothing at all. Give a meal to the hungry...that will be at least 5000 more people who will be fed. Some families might feed several more people.
Give a hug of comfort to someone who is suffering too.
We never know if our life will change and ache for this.
With Jesus being Jewish - I know through him the capacity of love is possible from Jewish people and to me that is sufficient as a starting point. The Jewish people know of God too.
If Jewish people can shine that same divine love from their heart to all people, this will diffuse so much conflict, anger tension and confusion that prevails. Are we not all family? A divided family?
Are we not all children who belong to God?
God is not a being of mortal limitations to argue over.
We are told 'the meek shall inherit the earth' - we do not know how. But if the system that is in control and works to the detriment of people, stealing from the people at every opportunity, causing injustice and perverting the laws, doing violence to the law given by God - it will not last...
In history the people were led out of Egypt from being oppressed and so we know by looking back on history that God does not approve of tyrannical rulers and those who go against Him.
As we do not understand the divine plan of God, we also must understand that God is in control of everything and everyone. If Jews are told to be obedient to the Law - this they must do.
However interpretation of the law, is also applicable too. If we do not understand Hebrew, and the many layers of each letter that is given, how can we possibly interpret that? Who has authority to?
Jesus said let him who has sinned throw the first stone!
But if the Jews are rejecting the clarity of the law...God knows.
Jesus changed the course of history to save women!
Taxes are still being collected from the people.
There are people who are collecting taxes from people who are exempt from paying these, but the system does not respect this....The system ignores the law regarding usury too.
So we pray...knowing everyone is learning their lesson.
Jesus being Jewish gives a voice to speak and be heard.
Jesus knew he would be contraversial and even rejected. But what was the real reason - crucifixion was a punishment for treason. Was he a threat to the people in power? He did not seek power.
The accused heritic Jesus...loved the people He loved enough to be honest even with those who were hard hearted....Today people are subjected to a system of officials with many who reject God and do not even believe...many took oaths in the name of God but that is sorted now, God is removed so they serve man instead....We live in times when so many human rights abuses take place today.
But in history Jewish people have as individuals challenged and confronted errors...It is for the Jewish people to speak out and as a rabbi wrote to me, it is time for people to claim their birthright.
If there is no correction, there will be dire consequences.
The Parables spoken by Jesus were for a reason that way...The people who understand there is more than what is presented in the Word of God, are also showing to the world the 'codes' revealed in the Torah too. There is a story behind the story in the news articles. There is a bigger picture.
While there are people who are wealthy and comfortable in their life, a vast amount of the global population are not. The imbalance created can also be reversed according to God's will.
But if the cause of poverty is removed...people will thrive.
Being miserable because of a system of officials who have no real regard for God or for his authority, is with also being an instrument to test those giving opportunity that they correct their crimes.
If God WRITES not to Kill anyone. Why is Killing taking place?
Man does not rule over God - weapons or not.
Jews might be wary of outsiders. They might even reject the truth from their own family, but hear this, if you have ever been corrected from doing a serious wrong - it is not always well received.
The opportunity for repentance is given to everyone.
God is the Judge...let's identify specific scripture on this:
Isaiah 33:22
For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.
If there are Jews who reject Jesus, know many accept him too.
If Jews live with Love, they will share this and with love they do.
Yahushua is a Hebrew name.. His name in English is Jesus
Peace be with you
Pauline Maria
