Marie Claire is celebrating 25 years with publishing a photoshoot of some of the most recognised female faces on television in this time.
Dame Vivienne Westwood - makes a statement beyond fashion design
Climate Revolution is Vivienne's message and Truth in written on her heart. Revolution means change. The out says be an individual and make your truth known too.
Creative people are inspired and inspire other people.
'Dame Vivienne Westwood is so much more than a fashion legend, she's also an active political protestor – just check out her outfit, showcasing a picture of US soldier and WikiLeaks informer Bradley Manning. She's also passionate about climate change. 'We have to get on the streets – make ourselves visible! – to change this very big problem,' she told Marie Claire.
'Sheridan Smith rocks a classic black dress' - Sheridan Smith has been hailed for a long list of drama achievements (link posted below to read more)
Sheridan Smith has a few awards on her mantelpiece – including a Bafta for last year's Mrs Biggs and an Olivier for Legally Blonde. She loves her life, but would maybe like to 'find a fella along the way. That wouldn't go amiss.' (There is someone special out there somewhere.)
Davina McCall and Laura Whitmore look like the best of friends larking around and having a laugh - they just met on the day of the photoshoot.
Davina best known for television presenting has blossomed over the years. A long time ago, she was in a band under the name 'Foghorn'. Obviously singing was not meant to be. As an individual Davina now influences behind the scenes and a viewing audience ie on Big Brother.
During teenage years Davina McCall developed an eating disorder. Davina's sunny disposition is one of her greatest assets as a TV presenter - masses of people are learning that it is possible to overcome a fractured childhood and silent suffering only delays healing.
Laura Whitmore is an Irish presenter for MTV Europe. Laura is a spokeswoman for the Because I Am a Girl charity clothing campaign. The goal of the campaign is to promote rights of girls and bring millions of girls out of poverty around the world.
Absolutely Fabulous Joanna Lumley, loved by people of all ages. Actress, comedienne, voice-over artist, former model and author also has a greater purpose in her life.
Human rights activist for Survival International and the Gurkha Justice Campaign, Joanna considered a "national treasure" of Nepal because of her support. She is an advocate for a number of charities and animal welfare groups, Compassion in World Farming and Vegetarians' International Voice for Animals. Joanna also won the Special Recognition Award at The National Television Awards in 2013.
As of July 2012, Joanna is planning, in collaboration with designer Thomas Heatherwick a pedestrian bridge across the Thames in London, 'Garden Bridge'. This is planned to feature trees and gardens. (People power and New Garden of Eden bridge comes to mind)
The people in the public eye are in the public eye because they are meant to be. Each person has their truth and each person has their purpose too.
Gillian Anderson is most famous for her role as FBI agent Scully in the series The X Files. In wearing this black backless dress, she is exposing her spine, her strength and what she is really all about. In an interview, reported by the Telegraph Gillian was in in reflective mood, pondering lost youth and time wasted chasing men.
In real life, Gillian Anderson serves as NF, Inc.'s honorary spokesperson and is a patron of the UK-based Neurofibromatosis Association. This stems from her brother Aaron's diagnosis of and eventual death from Neurofibromatosis. She is a member of the board of directors for Artists for a New South Africa and a campaigner for ACTSA: Action for Southern Africa; an active member of PETA, and supports animal rights. Gillian also supports tribal rights charity Survival International leading. In late 2010, Anderson and other celebrities joined a campaign to boycott Botswana diamonds over the government's treatment of the Kalahari Bushmen and in February 2011, Gillian narrated a short film about recent footage of an uncontacted tribe. The Amazon Indians were spotted from the air on the Brazil-Peru border. Anderson has said, "What comes across powerfully from this amazing footage is how healthy and confident these people appear. I hope they can be left alone – but that will only happen if the loggers are stopped." In June 2011, Anderson became an ambassador for Survival.
Featured in Marie Claire are a number of female icons.
Marie Claire has published a special collectors issue to celebrate 25 years Birthday in October. This is also available as a digital edition through Apple Newsstand.
Women of substance get ahead not by having a pretty face.
There are many extraordinary women in our world - many will not be in the public eye. However the people who are, are in a position to powerfully impact our world and create positive change. There are people who want to be famous and wealthy just for the lifestyle...this is a waste of life and opportunity to make a positive difference. This is everyone's birthright.
Listening to a lady from Saudi Arabia, she said her husband does not listen. While the men are talking together, there is NOTHING stopping women anywhere from communicating together, sharing ideas, supporting and empowering each other. Then guiding men with these goals.
Women, in a man's world have been sounded out. Not all men listen to the ladies. Men have valued beauty before intelligence - the physical appearance before the heart and mind.
For The Goddess Project Movie, my neice, Creative Director Hollie Rae and Documentary filmmaker Sara Landas have been shining the message in their travels 10,000 by road across USA:
'Others See the Possibility on Your Reality'
Marie Claire's message is 'Think Smart - Look Amazing'
Peace, love and best wishes
