'Great Council' named, Pan Orthodox & Christ's Humanity

If we really want to understand what is going on, we might only learn and discover a snippet of the whole, but a snippet of truth is a snippet more than we knew before.

In our learning in school and life we are only given what we can understand and we are given what we can understand in the way we can understand. In this way, I rather want to learn like a child. When studying over years trying to gain credible qualifications for my chosen profession, I had many questions and when reading, instead of reading snippets in pages, I had the book in my hands. Perhaps absorbing cover to cover was not so easy but I was willing to read all of it. I want to learn!

Only this last week have I learned of the 'Great Council'

The Pan-Orthodox Council, officially referred to as the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church,[1] is a planned synod of the bishops of all the universally recognised autocephalous local (national) churches of Eastern Orthodox Christianity, to be held in ChaniaCrete, Greece, in June 2016. The Council, after decades of preparations that had begun in 1961, is being convened to address the problems within Orthodox Christianity, which have appeared since the beginning of the 20th century, ranging from the relations between the different autocephalous (independent) Orthodox Churches and the organisation of church life outside of the traditional territories of these Churches to moral and ethical issues. Some of the most contentious issues that have failed to be resolved in advance during the consultations, such as the issue of common calendar and diptychs, have been struck off the original agenda elaborated in 1976.[2] All approved documents of the Council are to be published.
In March 2014, the Primates of local Orthodox Churches convened in Fener, the residence of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, and reached a decision: ″The Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church will be convened by the Ecumenical Patriarch in Constantinople in 2016, unless something unexpected occurs.″[1][3]
In January 2016, at the invitation of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Synaxis of Primates of the Orthodox Autocephalous Churches was held at the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambésy, Switzerland.[4] The Primates of the local Orthodox Churches and three official delegations representing the Church of Antioch, the Church of Greece, and the Church of Poland, convened to finalise the texts for the Holy and Great Council.[4] Due to the heightened tensions between Russia and Turkey, a decision was reached to hold the Council in Greece.[5][6]
The items officially approved at the 2016 Synaxis for referral to and adoption by the Holy and Great Council are:[7][8]
  • The Mission of the Orthodox Church in Today’s World;
  • The Orthodox Diaspora;
  • Autonomy and the Means by Which it is Proclaimed;
  • The Sacrament of Marriage and its Impediments;
  • The Importance of Fasting and Its Observance Today;
  • Relations of the Orthodox Church with the Rest of the Christian World.
The participants and delegations are listed in this article:

Reading the above, we learn that this meeting did go ahead. But only because of a dream that I had seeing Jesus with the Holy Orthodox Priests in what seemed apparently to be inside the Patriarchate of Constantinople - I did not realise then it was for a reason. This dream happened on 9th May 2013. A few weeks later I discovered an article published on 10th May 2013 that there was an assasination plot against the Ecumenical Patriarch and this was said to have been reported by the police in Turkey.

Well the time did pass and His Holiness Bartholomew I lives.

How did I know that Jesus was inside this building? Well to be honest I cannot be 100% sure but the symbol on the wall was shown and seen in my dream as behind him. Notice also something else the throne seat on this photograph. There are two.

A visitor stated one time' that is the throne of the empress' - to be honest I cannot say this is true but I thought it was interesting and the timing of this in 2013 too.

'Throne room inside the Patriarchate of Constantinople. The Gospel is enthroned on the dais; the Patriarch sits on the lower throne in front.'

In the 13th May 2013 dream Jesus revealed himself as being a physical person talking to other priests but he may have revealed himself in this way so that I would recognise this is taking place. Not all people are guided by the Holy Spirit. There are some people who reject the Holy Spirit and also the antichrist rejects Jesus as coming in the flesh.

'In 381, the First Council of Constantinople declared that "The Bishop of Constantinople shall have the primacy of honour after the Bishop of Rome, because it is New Rome" (canon iii). The Patriarchs refused to confirm this canon. Nonetheless, the prestige of the office continued to grow not only because of the obvious patronage of the Byzantine Emperor but because of its overwhelming physical and geographical importance. In practice, the Bishop of Rome eventually acknowledged this situation.'

Read more about this history and progression.

'Bartholomew's tenure has been characterized by intra-Orthodox cooperation, inter-Christian andinter-religious dialogue, as well as by formal visits to Catholic, Orthodox and Muslim leaders seldom previously visited by an Ecumenical Patriarch. He has exchanged numerous invitations of Church and State dignitaries. His efforts to promote religious freedom and human rights, his initiatives to advance religious tolerance among the world’s religions, as well as his efforts to promote ecology and the protection of the environment, have been widely noted, and these endeavors have earned him the title "The Green Patriarch".[9][10] Among his many international positions, he currently sits on the Board of World Religious Leaders for the Elijah Interfaith Institute'

'He attended the Papal inauguration of Pope Francis on 19 March 2013, paving the way for better Catholic–Orthodox relations. It was the first time that the spiritual head of Eastern Orthodox Christians had attended a papal inauguration since the Great Schism in 1054.[20][21] After, he invited Pope Francis to travel with him to the Holy Land in 2014 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the embrace between Patriarch Athenagoras and Pope Paul VI. Pope Francis was also invited to the Patriarchate for the feast day of Saint Andrew (30 November).[22]
On 16 April 2016 he visited, together with Pope Francis and Archbishop Hieronymus, the Mòria camp in the island of Lesbos, to call the attention of the world to the refugee issue'

Sharing photographs from the internet to show the ever reminder of the presence of Christ as being alive and watching over the church and the people. When we learn in history lands have been taken and buildings of prayer too - in recent years destruction this does not shake the people who are true believers because history has shown, we are instructed, go into your home and pray.
Now it is interesting because I only found out about the inauguration ceremony of Pope Francis the evening before when speaking to a man from another Orthodox Church in England, trying to find out what Orthodox churches are locally and HE told me this will be the first time in 1000  years that the Ecumenical Patriarch has been in attendance...( so in this time they are united as'brothers in Christ' and this is the most important consideration of all. Of course there will be reservations but God is bigger than our reservations and if people are serving God sincerely they will not err knowing that the children who belong to God - the people, are at risk of mortal and spiritual danger now)
It is necessary to preserve mankind not the opposite.

The meeting between the Russian  Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis was to be the first this year after the 1000 year schism. Read more about this.
In the progression of preserving people who might be only a remnant, in other ways the Holy Spirit outpouring is bringing people back to God and this is taking place in our world too. The rise of people globally praying and seeking truth, studying the scriptures and fasting, is rising now.
But also the rise of evil taking place is with rebellion - there are those who do not want the people to be set free and there are those who evidently do not want to relinquish control either.
The silencing of the return of Jesus is also with scaring people in any association to follow him or even to look to him - the one who has been given all authority. Jesus is not deceiving people.

In this time relinquishing power and lust for power, allows healing and peaceful works - we can all become helpers instead of despots, we people with different strengths and skills can share, teach and empower instead of being tyrants - we who understand serve in assisting evolving souls.

How did a Church once a healing sanctuary by the power of prayer and divinely guided counsellors, become territorial in its views and political infrastructure? Well from what I can gather the decisions
 made to be preserved 'the canons' may have evoked at times disagreements. Instead of one church and one people and one God....how many thousands are there now? 30,000 or more?

Jesus has shown he does not need a physical building.

God the invisible one does not need a physical building either. But the gathering of a people in one place in prayer, makes a unity of people in prayer so much powerful. If all the churches gathered together NOW and prayed for global peace and healing for ALL the people in all the nations, we might even see those who have gone down the pathway of evil through hurt and hate repent.

Once we understand Jesus gives this light...

....then we can understand why many remain in spiritual darkness. It is a crime against humanity to deny people their rights to worship God and also to be denied our God given inheritance rights. The godless laws and wars  for profit and illness industry thriving show a land that has forgotten the healer.

I was told of  a time when the priests would go and pray over those who are sick...Well society is largely sick and mask their sickness and sadness with alcohol and drugs - many prescribed. But even in darkness and sadness - the Light of Christ has never gone out. This is His Orthodoxy!

When a church is led by the Holy Spirit Jesus is with the people...God is not for one people and not for another. Many people have chosen to reject God and actually it is not everyone's fault. The people have been robbed of their spiritual birthright and starved of the simple food to preserve the soul.

Indeed we are tired with the dark forces at work, but we keep going and will keep going until the time when those who are at work trying to force their will against God are brought to their knees!

Over the years, over the generations many elders have been regarded as Holy for they have been given truths and visitations by the Lord with instruction. The instruction I had is ' write for me'

Yahushua gave his name when I asked him.

Greeks refer to Jesus as Christos...meaning the anointed one.

With my prayer focus on global peace and healing - I know the Power of God and divine intervention can avert another great war....but men must be willing to Trust God. Submit to God!

Peace be with you
Pauline Maria
