Highland King: Dubai Ruler to Build Lodge Scotland

Highland holiday home: The Crown Prince of Dubai has submitted plans to build a 16-bedroom hunting lodge next to his current 14-bedroom home in the Scottish Highlands

The Daily Mail headlines 'Highland King! Prince of Dubai to build 16-bedroom lodge on his 63,000-acre estate in Scotland ... right next to his 14-bedroom holiday home'

  • Billionaire Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al-Maktoum has applied for permission to build the luxury hunting lodge on his 63,000-acre estate

  • 65-year-old has owned land in Scotland for over 20 years and is well-liked
  • Wants to build a 'modern hunting lodge' on his 63,000-acre estate

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al-Maktoum has applied for planning permission to add to the existing luxury buildings on his 63,000-acre estate in Inverinate in Wester Ross.

He has owned Inverinate Estate for more than 20 years, and visits every year in the summer for several weeks to escape Dubai's heat, which can reach 50C temperatures.

Local Highland councillor Biz Campbell, who lives around three miles from Sheikh Mohammed's Highland residence, said she could not comment on the application as she was a planning committee member.

However, she said the family had brought many benefits to the area. 'Sheikh Mohammed is a very good landlord to the community,' said Cllr Campbell.

'When we were trying to do up the hall he stepped in and financed it and when we were trying desperately to find provision for elderly people after Graham House in Dornie closed, he gifted land for a daycare centre and eight sheltered houses.

'He's very well regarded in the community. He employs 12 people full-time on Inverinate Estate and when he visits there are lots of other people taken on to help cater for the family. He was up recently with friends - he loves the area and walking in the hills.'

Read more on the Daily Mail article below and see the plans.

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Arabic محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم; Muḥammad bin Rāshid al Maktūm), also Sheikh Mohammed, (born 22 July 1949) is the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and constitutional monarch of Dubai. He has held those positions since January–February 2006, when he succeeded his elder brother, Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Scotland was named after an Egyptian Princess Scota - a name also connected with Portugal The possibility of being related to the Dubai royal family is written in history. We have seen Fly Emirates logos in recent years with the Nike Logo in the football arena.  There is by the side of the Emirates Stadium in London laid down and named 'Queensland Road'....so time will tell all.

Sheikh Muhammad owning Inverinate Estate for more than 20 years, he strikes me as someone of a high intelligence and perceptive - someone who probably understands Providence too. While there are people in our world who take everyone as fools...not everyone is taken in by this.

Remembering the ceremony of Burj Khalifah, the tallest building in the world situated in Dubai. The amazing structures in our world - what do they really represent? This is a physical structiure that is closer to the heavens and the reminder of who is the authority beyond us all? He Knows.

Burj means tower. Khalifah means successor - Khalifah 'the civil and religious leader of a Mulsim state considered to be a representative of Allah on earth. Many radical Muslims believe the Khalifah will unite all Islamic lands and people and subjugate the rest of the world' (quote)

Scotland is a land of mystery and history, unknown to me

What is known, what is meant to happen is Destiny.

Peace be with you
